Mistakes in new ways

“I don’t care if you F-up… just don’t do it the SAME way more than once!”

In a recent conversation a trusted adviser said this to me and followed with…

“Actually… if you aren’t messing up, you’re not trying hard enough.”

I really appreciated the statement about messing up in the same way more than once.  Simply… LEARN from your mistakes.  Live them, breath them, own them… and then grow from them!

I often have to remind myself that the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again, expecting a different result.  This applies to so much in life: health, fitness, body, personal relationships, and work.  With this in mind, it’s easy to become overwhelmed by the idea of needing to change or fix everything or make major changes to not mess up again or find a new outcome.  However… it’s vital to remember sometimes it’s the smallest adjustment that will make  the once F-up into a great success.

It’s easy to continue to do the same thing and expect different results.  It’s easy to write something off as a fail and never try again.  It’s easy but it’s not worth it.

Keep messing up… just in new ways!
